Azubike Aliche, DSW, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker
For 14 years, I’ve worked in the human services sector in different settings, and with varying populations and various positions. As a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the State of New Jersey, I’ve been involved in work with children with behavioral problems, as well as adults with a variety of mental health and addiction problems. Primarily, my work has involved risk assessment; intake assessment; treatment planning; individual, family, and group psychotherapy. In my private practice, I’m focusing on work with individuals, couples, families, and groups. With the completion of my Doctor-of-Social Work program, I am now ready to contribute to raising the next generation of social workers in evidence-based clinical practice. I am looking for adjunct teaching opportunity in colleges and universities. My approach to teaching is to be accountable and to hold my students responsible for completing their work. For me, teaching and learning, like clinical work, is about collaboration, in which I work with the students to achieve set goals and objectives. I have teaching experience at high school and community college levels way back from over a decade ago. Skills: Psychosocial assessments, social work consultation, referrals, program development, training and supervision of clinical staff, maintaining professional relationships with collateral agencies, treatment planning, documentation, report writing, knowledge of various mental health and substance abuse treatment modalities, ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines, analytical and problem solving skills, knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and supportive and constructive communication with coworkers, patients, residents, visitors, families and referral sources.
