MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDER PROFILE

Dr. Ayodele Adeigbola is a Weil-Cornell trained psychiatrist who has worked extensively in both the community and in patient hospital setting. She was born and raised in Manhattan and educated at Trinity High School before completing a Bachelor of Science at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. She graduated from medical school at Howard University in the District of Colombia before returning to Weil-Cornell, where she completed a residency in psychiatry. She supplemented her education with a fellowship year at Columbia Psychiatric Institute, where she completed the community psychiatry program. She was an associate medical director at Project Renewal where she gained extensive experience in the treatment of substance abuse and community outreach. During this time she also worked with LGBT youth at the Neutral Zone to provide care for at risk youth suffering with identity issues, psychiatric issues and violence in their homes. She began her employment at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Westchester Division in 2006, working as Unit Chief of the out patient Addiction and Recovery Services and co-chair of both amenities units, The Haven and The Retreat, serving both general psychiatric patients and substance abuse patients. She has also worked on the women’s unit at NYPH-WD, where she worked extensively with patients diagnosed with post partum depression, PTSD and domestic violence. She is pleased to be the co-director of Second Arc Life Center, where individuals have the opportunity to create a new narrative for their lives. The mission at Second Arc is to engage people in the creation of realizing goals that promote health, increase satisfaction with their daily routine and create new opportunities for them to do more and be better people. Dr. Adeigbola is available for consultations, psychopharmacology, psychotherapy and suboxone inductions and maintenance. She maintains offices in White Plains and Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
