Chinomso D. Nwachuku, M.A.

Founder

Chinomso D. Nwachuku is an uncle, brother, friend, story-teller, hype-man, semi-comedian, introverted-extrovert, public servant, Flavour N’Abania fan and lover of all things Nigerian.

As a child in Imo State, Nigeria, his father, a historian, referenced this African proverb frequently:

“Until the lion has his or her own storyteller, the hunter will always have the best part of the story.”

From a young age, Chinomso enjoyed telling and listening to stories. As he got older, he experienced the healing and therapeutic powers in being the author of his own story. He also experienced the feeling of being deprived of the opportunity to tell his story. Chinomso believes that it is empowering when we become the authors of our individual stories. These experiences, as well as others, inspired the development of talknaija.org.

Chinomso has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Print Journalism from Lincoln University and a Master’s degree in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago. Chinomso works on projects focused on mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention.

Chinomso resides in Maryland. In his free time, he enjoys fostering communities of like-minded individuals and engaging in communities that promote healthy living, exercising, and laughing (lots of it). He also enjoys spending time with friends and family especially his nephew.
